The Marine Association of the BVI meets every last Wednesday of the month at 12:30 in the Dinning Room of the Royal British Virgin Islands Yacht Club.
Lunch will be available.

NEXT MEETING:
The next meeting of the Marine Association will be held at the Conference Room,Marine Studies Centre, HLSCC, Paraquita Bay at 1230pm on Wednesday 25th May. Lunch will be available at a reasonable charge courtesy of NECI/HLSCC.
Our guest speaker will be from Conservation and Fisheries additionally a demonstration of the new fire pump for the Marine shelter will be given.


BVI SCUBA ORGANISATION:
BVI Scuba Organisation (previously known as Dive Operators Association) introduced a new Dive Emergency card, to be prominently displayed in all crewed and bareboat charter vessels operating in the BVI. NATIONAL PARKS TRUST
The National Parks Trust have completed their flyers for users of the National Park Mooring Buoy System and have started to distribute them. Twenty (20) moorings at the Baths have been replaced by MoorSeacure with better lines and risers. The National Parks Trust crew are currently replacing damaged pennants with 'hard eye' pick up lines. KIDS AND THE SEA CHIEF MINISTERS CUP
The Marine Association donates $1500.00 to the KATS programme and their upcoming Chief Ministers Cup.This banner event takes place 8-10 July and will once again be held at Nanny Cay

MARINE ASSOCIATION PROMOTION
In accordance with our mandate of promotion of the Association and its members Rack cards are now available for distribution and use at Boat Shows, front desks and other prominent positions

MARINE ASSOCIATION OF THE CARIBBEAN
At a recent meeting of Caribbean Nations Marine Associations, Trade Associations, held in Trinidad & Tabago the inauguration of the foundling Marine Association of the Caribbean was undertaken.
Representatives from Antigua, Bahamas, Bardados, Belize, Curacao, Grenada, Jamaica, St. Lucia, St. Vincent Trinidad & Tabago and the British Virgin Islands took part.
Assisted by a grant donated by of 47000EU the new Association discussed constitution, goals, promotion and the establishment of a Board

PARAQUITA BAY MARINE SHELTER
The Marine Shelter at Paraquita Bay will be opened shortly for the predisposition of charter vessels prior to Hurricane season
The courtesy for the use of this Marine protected area is thanks to the BVI Government and the Conservation and Fisheries Department.
Annual maintenance fee for each Marine Association mooring used has been increased from $100 to $125.
Based on availability i.e.: placement of Marine Association Members, moorings for first time users may be applied for at a cost of $350 per mooring plus $100 Marine Association membership.More info (info@marinebvi.com)
